First Aid Beauty for Everyone?

It’s uncommon to find skincare that everyone can use. So when I came across this brand, I was intrigued.

First Aid Beauty creates “Skincare for All Ages,” and for all skin types. Their products also follow the premise of clean beauty that also is cruelty free. First Aid Beauty targets uncommon and common issues that may cause your skin not to flourish such as stress, insufficient nutrition, sun damage and pollutants. Let me know in the comments, what is your biggest skin concern?

My skin at its best is dehydrated, combination/dry, and eczema-prone, while my daughter’s prepubescent skin is oily and prone to congestion. Our skin is delicate and a bit problematic in different ways. We both need skincare that works but that is gentle on our skin. This is where First Aid Beauty (FAB) comes in.

FAB has a wide beauty range including, cleansers, toners, moisturizers and sunscreen, so you can find your entire skin care routine. They even have makeup! What’s intriguing about this brand is that are committed to producing products;

  1. Safe for sensitive skin

  2. No artificial fragrances

  3. Dermatology tested

  4. Cruelty free

  5. With clean ingredients

Today I will give a brief review on some of the products that my daughter and I have tried from FAB:

Facial Radiance Polish

Radiance Pads

Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration

Facial Radiance Polish

This a gentle physical exfoliant that has exfoliating properties like nut shell powder and willow bark extract. I started using this just after an eczema breakout. My skin was still reacting to everything, so I had to be very careful about what I was re-introducing my skin to. After wetting my skin in the shower, I rubbed this gently on my face and it managed to buff my skin without irritation. My skin felt and looked much smoother after using it. The texture of the polisher has a slight resemblance to St. Ives Apricot Scrub, but feels entirely different.

Since my daughter has very young skin, I prefer that she uses gentle skin care. We applied the facial radiance polish to her wet skin and rubbed gently. There was an instant difference in her skin. The scrub seemed to have instantly removed some congestion on the sides of her nose and her chin.

In both of our cases, this seems to be safe for my easily irritated skin, and my daughter’s young skin.

First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads

First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads

Radiance Pads

These pads are pre-soaked with lactic and glycolic acid that acts as a toner. It promises to safely exfoliate, tone, and brighten all skin types. The description notes that it is safe for all skin types and safe to use everyday, but because of my eczema prone skin we initially eased ourselves into using this one day on, one day off. At first only 4 days a week, then everyday. We both only use this at night to prevent any chemical interaction with the sun. If my skin were more tolerant, I would probably switch to using this in the morning as a toner (before moisturizer or sunscreen) to get the benefits of exfoliating before makeup.

We both noticed the exfoliating power of the radiance pads over a three week period. It was relieving that I experienced no irritation, and that it was safe enough to use on my daughter’s skin. I think this is a great product for anyone and especially for persons now getting into skin care. The added benefit of the pads being pre- soaked is not spilling and wasting toner for those whom may not be used to liquid toner.

  • Tip: I keep this jar upside down on my vanity to ensure that the liquid does not settle on the bottom.

Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration

This is a thiccc (Yes! thick with 3 C’s) moisturizer that has an amazing whipped texture with a smooth, non-greasy after feel. This promises to be great on all skin types, even being good for a baby’s skin! While we initially used this as a face moisturizer, I quickly realized that it was great to treat my body as well, especially when I felt that pre-eczema breakout itch.

This is an incredibly moisturizing cream so it is amazing in colder, dry weather. Especially if you have eczema prone skin. This is amazing as a body lotion. I also have the scented version of this,(honeysuckle) which I use strictly on my body. The scent does linger, so it is great for a soothing scent after taking an evening shower, but not great on my face as I do not like lingering scents of skin care on my face. This moisturizer was not great for my daughter as she mentioned her face feeling too slick when she perspired after using the Ultra Repair Cream.

Final thoughts

These products all worked well for both of our skin types with the exception of the Ultra Repair Hydration Cream which I loved for my drier skin type, but it was not compatible on her oily skin and active lifestyle. I do believe your enjoyment of this cream depends on your skin type and your climate. I did take the Intense Hydration Cream with me to Florida during an eczema breakout. Florida’s weather was humid and hot during my stay and my skin began to heal while using these products. If you have oily skin, you may not enjoy the Hydrating Cream on your face as much as I did.

Overall I enjoyed using these products and they passed the tests between my daughter and I. I recommend these products from First Aid Beauty! Tell me your skin type in the comments and if you share any skin care with your loved ones?
